PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project involved the renovation of a historic property in Chartham that had become dark and unloved over time. The interiors were dominated by heavy faux wood panelling, bold floral wallpaper and pink tones, which obscured the character of the original building.
The client approached us looking for a calmer, more elegant scheme that respected the age of the house while supporting modern living. It was important that the design incorporated advanced technology — including a large-format television — alongside a number of heirloom furniture pieces with strong sentimental value.
HOW WE HELPED
Our role included:
• Developing a refined style and design direction that softened the interiors while enhancing the building’s historic details
• Creating a cohesive colour palette that felt elegant and light without losing warmth
• Integrating smart technology discreetly within the design
• Designing lighting schemes to improve atmosphere and balance throughout the home
• Incorporating existing furniture and treasured pieces seamlessly into the new scheme
THE RESULT
The completed design brings a sense of calm, cohesion and understated elegance to the property, allowing both the architectural features and the client’s prized possessions to take centre stage.
This project was later featured in 'Inside Kent' magazine.
